Knit Reign Slouch Beanie FREE Pattern


Hi Friends! The Reign Slouch Beanie is live!!! This one is super easy and great for beginners as it just uses knit and purl stitches.

GAUGE

Stockinette in US15/10mm 4” = 9 Stitches | 13 Rows/Rounds


YARN

Super Bulky #6 (40-110 yards)


Alternatives:


NEEDLES

US 13/9mm BRIM – 16” Circular Needles

US 15/10mm BODY – 16” Circular Needles

Alternative: US 15/10mm Double Pointed Needles


OTHER MATERIALS

Stitch Marker or Make your own!

kfb – Knit front and back: knit the next stitch through the front loop, do not slip off, knit the same stitch through the back loop.

MEASUREMENTS

This is just a standard head sizing chart provided for your convenience. This is not the finished beanie size. Sizes may differ due to knitter’s tension and type of yarn used.

Instructions | In US Terms

Sizes: Baby (Toddler, Child, Adult, Lg Adult)


BRIM | US13/9mm Needles

co 36 (38, 40, 42, 44), join round careful not to twist sts. Add stitch marker to mark the beg.


Rounds 1- 5 (6, 7, 7, 8): *k1, p1. Rep from * around.


BODY | US15/10mm Needles


Set up Round

Baby – k all sts (36 sts)

Toddler – kfb, k rem sts (39 sts)

Child – k all sts (42 sts)

Adult – k all sts (42 sts)

Lg Adult – kfb, k rem sts (45 sts)




Round 1: *k1, k next st without dropping st, then p the same st and the next st together. Rep from * around.


Round 2: k all sts Repeat rounds 1-2 until your beanie measures ear to crown height (see chart on page 1). End on Round 1. Measure from the bottom of brim up. Examples: For a 9-year-old, stop at 8-9” for a 1-2” slouch beanie. Adjust slouch as desired.


Decrease Rounds | Switch to dpns when stitches are too tight on circular needles or try the Modified Magic Loop!


Round 1: *k4, p2tog. Rep from * around.


Round 2: *k1, k next st without dropping st, then p the same st and the next st together, k2. Rep from * around.


Round 3: *k4, p1. Rep from * around.


Round 4: *k1, p2tog, k2. Rep from * around.


Round 5: *k1, p1. Rep from * around.


Round 6: k3, *k3tog, k3. Rep from * around.

Round 7: k all sts.


Round 8: *k2, k2tog. Rep from * around.


Rep round 8 if you still have too many sts.

FINISHING Cut yarn leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, weave through the remaining stitches as if to knit and pull tight. Secure and weave in all ends.


Pom Pom

Using an extra-large pom pom maker (or desired size), make pom pom by wrapping yarn around pom maker until full or as thick as you’d like and attach to beanie.
