How to Crochet the Front & Back Post Stitches + Video



Hi everyone! I was getting ready to post the sunflower pattern when I realized I needed to provide a tutorial for the Front & Back Posts, in this case, it's for the double crochet stitch.

A "post" stitch is a raised stitch that works around the post of the below stitch rather than at the top of the stitch below.


In this video tutorial, I demonstrate these stitches with the double crochet stitch however it's the same process with any other stitches.


The difference with the "front" and "back" post is where you work the stitches.


The first photo shows that the stitch is worked from the front around the post. This is the Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc).


The second photo shows that the stitch is worked from behind. This is the Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc).
