Crochet Basketweave Stitch Pattern & Tutorial

Hi! Today's tutorial is on the Crochet Basketweave Stitch. In the video tutorial, you will learn how to work raised stitches which are the Front & Back Post Double Crochet Stitches. It's not as intimidating as it may look!

For this tutorial, I used Darn Good Yarn's Super Bulky Catskill Fireworks.

Yarn: Any Yarn (Darn Good Yarn)

Crochet Hook: Appropriate hook size for yarn

Abbreviations

Ch – Chain

St(es) – Stitch(es)

Dc – Double Crochet

Fpdc – Front Post Double Crochet: dc st worked around post in front of work

Bpdc – Back Post Double Crochet: dc st worked around post in back of work

Sk – Skip

Rep – Repeat

Basketweave Stitch Pattern

Foundation:Ch 16 or in multiples of 6 sts, plus 4

1dc in 4thch from hook and every ch across.

Row 1-2:ch2, turn, sk 1stdc st, 1fpdc around each of the next 3 posts, bpdc around each of the next 3 posts. Rep from * across until last st. 1dc in top of turning ch.

Row 3-4:ch2, turn, sk 1stdc st, 1bpdc around each of the next 3 posts, fpdc around each of the next 3 posts. Rep from * across until last st. 1dc in top of turning ch.

Rep rows 1-4 until desired size.
